First Day of School

Shiny folders and binders.
Gleaming textbooks.
Sharp, fresh pencils.
Anticipation.

These are some of the things I love about the start of school. We are beginning school earlier this year then normal...usually we wait until we get home from our September vacation. But here it is, August 22nd, and we are observing and early bedtime in readiness and eagerness.
"Hold, it!" you may be thinking. "I though you just graduated?"

My answer: Yes, I did. But does that mean I stop learning? No, of course not. I'm going to spend the next school year a bit differently than normal, it's true.

Here is my 2010/2011 school year profile ;}

Inspiration

Many people find inspiration from multiple different sources- other people, nature, reading, music, etc.
My leading inspiration is flowers. Yep, you heard right. Flowers.

Always fascinating, flowers are wonders of God's Creation! Have you ever studied the flower? I mean, REALLY studied it (outside of your high-school biology textbook ;} )? These beautiful and useful plants, were put on earth by God merely for our enjoyment! For that I am grateful.

When reading a book last summer, I became interested in the Victorian meanings of flowers. It was very important in society, that you present the right flowers at the right time. For instance, when you've been invited to someone's house, you would present something like Ivy, Crocus or Pyramidal Bell Flower, in the intent of blessing with friendship, happiness and gratitude. A young man would never give a lady a phlox on their first meeting! (which means, "our souls are united").

As you can see, it was vital that you gave the right flowers at the right time...isn't that a lovely idea?

Here are some pictures I made to present to you, some flowers and their sentiments:

Please drop me a comment and tell me which was your favorite.
More to come!
Love,
KK

Jo March tagged me with the Blue Award!

name 10 questions of my own, and then tag 6 other bloggers. So...without any

further ado...

  Currently, my favorite would be My Tribute(To God Be The Glory) by Andre Crouch, but I guarantee that it will change between the time of writing and of reading. ;}

This award is for those girls whose blog is lovely, pure and Godly!

If you have been tagged, here's what you do:

A) Post about your tag!

B) Pick five bloggers who deserve this award

C) Leave a comment on their blog, and tell them that you tagged them!

D)  Answer these questions and put them up in your post:

1: Apples, Oranges or Bananas?

       there is nothing like a good, slightly green banana. there is nothing like a cold, juicy orange. there is nothing like a crisp, sweet gala apple. catch my drift?
2: How many siblings do you have?

          oldest of 7 + 1 in heaven

3: How old are you?
     old enough to know I'm a sinner and young enough to live for Him. Seriously though, "with 3 younger sisters all grown up, your ladyship(s) can hardly expect me to own to it!"

4: Do you live on a prairie, woodland, swamp, city or other?
    1 acre wooded, 3/4 acre cleared and a small triangle of land across the street...don't ask, it's a long story ;}

5: Scissors or glue?
    SCISSORS!! i've never heard of anyone who sewed using glue...

6: Describe your dream house:

       a small stone cottage nestled in acres upon acres of lush land, fields of wildflowers, woods, rolling hills, a brook and no one in sight for miles... *closes eyes and imagines a breath of fresh air*

7: Is your room clean?
     I think it's clean, but my roommate would say otherwise...;}
8: If you could be a movie character for a day, who would you be?
      Queen Susan , of course.

9: Italy, Greece, France, Spain or England?
       boy, it's a close one between Italy and England...probably England

10:  What denomination are you?

         I'm a Jesus follower. If they teach the true scriptures and true salvation, plus other main doctrines(of course), then I'd be that. I attend a Fundamental Independent Baptist Church, if that's what you're looking for.
11: Do you sleep with a stuffed toy (BE HONEST!!!!)

         NO!! I DO NOT SLEEP WITH A STUFFED TOY!
 i do sleep with a blankie though...

12: Gum, chocolate, or jelly beans?
CHOCOLATE! what kind of question is that! I do like gum and jelly bellys (won't eat any other jelly beans) though.13:  What is your favorite book?

   Currently, my favorite book is the Chronicles of Narnia. Next month, if you were to ask me however, I'd probably say the Chronicles of Narnia. The next month, if you were to ask me...
14: Favorite ice cream flavour?
     first, I love this spelling! Flavour, colour, Saviour, etc. it looks so much more refined.

         my favorite ice cream is probably Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough. but only if it's Edy's Slow-Churned.

15: If you had to eat one type of food for two weeks, what would that food be?

     fruit. if i had to pick a specific...apples, probably, filling and yummy!
16: What is your favorite Olympic sport?

   figure skating. especially the men's...at least they wear clothes... bobsledding is fun, too.

17: If you woke up and discovered that you had turned into Miley Cyrus for the day, what would you do?

     I'd make me destroy every copy of "The Last Song". (don't even try to get it, this answer is for Mama & Nana)

18: Describe yourself in three words

        drama-queen, creative, seamstress

19: What chore do you positively hate?

         IRONING!! but we have a good iron, which makes it easier...too bad it's under repair!
20: If Elmo came into your room with a gun, what would you do?

    I'd have Jim Cramer (the stocks and bonds guru) turn on him- then it would be a battle of the energies!!

Alright, I tag:
